Richard Giordano - Fischer Cunnane & Associates

Richard Giordano, CPA

Rich is a problem-solver, and nothing gets his heart pumping like an opportunity to bring order to financial chaos.

Whether he’s consolidating the general ledgers of a newly merged corporation or preparing a complex tax return for a multi-subsidiary corporation, Rich starts with a clear vision of the desired end state. Then he tackles each component involved in that bigger picture.

Rich applies this problem-solving approach to the full cycle of a client’s financial needs, from preparing financial statements to performing the audit or review to corporate and high-net-worth individual tax planning. By overseeing that full cycle, Rich gets to know the client at a deeper level and gains greater insight into their goals and objectives.

That diverse knowledge also allows him to provide a seamless level of client service. I can put down a set of financial statements and pick up a tax return, and I don’t even have to switch gears. To me, it’s all about presenting financial information, just for different purposes.

Rich sees financial information as fuel for a business’ growth engine. Whether the organization is a jewelry manufacturer or a law firm, owners need relevant and up-to-date financial information to make educated decisions about how to move forward.

Rich has developed deep knowledge of the unique industry pressures his clients face. He is equally at ease with the complexities of a contractor’s percentage of completion accounting and managing product costs in a manufacturing environment. He is also as adept at advising a lawyer on how to achieve tax efficiency as he is advising a not-for-profit client on maintaining compliance with grant programs.

Rich serves the firm’s largest not-for-profit clients, including overseeing A-133 audits and Form 990 preparation. He has developed a personal understanding of the pressures facing not-for-profit organizations through his role as a treasurer of the local Health Education Center, which works to introduce medical services to underserved areas.

As Fischer Cunnane’s director of technology, Rich also oversees the selection and implementation of information systems that allow the firm to efficiently deliver accounting and tax services. He considers efficiency an essential component of a positive client experience. I always keep in mind that my clients have a business to run. I work with them to achieve the end goal without being a burden to them.
