Fischer Cunnane was founded in the late 1960s as an accounting, advisory and consulting firm serving the five-county Philadelphia area and beyond.

During its first 30 years, the firm grew into one of the largest locally founded accounting firms in the region under the name Elko Fischer McCabe & Rudman. Its four partners─Al Elko, Robert Fischer, Don McCabe and Mel Rudman─remained loyal to their deep roots in the Philadelphia area. Growing the firm regionally, they opened offices in Media, West Chester, Blue Bell and Woodstown.

During this growth period, Joseph Cunnane joined the firm and was instrumental in working with Fischer to open the first West Chester office. As the pair began to develop that office, they saw a growing need for IT accounting services, as well as advisory and consulting services.

In 1989, the firm built the West Chester headquarters where it resides today and in 2000, Fischer and Cunnane assumed leadership of the firm. While hiring skilled practitioners focused on the personalized services that a high-quality regional firm should provide, Fischer Cunnane grew to the more than 50 employees you see today, including 26 certified public accountants and a staff of talented and accomplished professionals.

Co-founder Bob Fischer remains active in the firm and is proud of the many employees who started and grew their careers at Fischer Cunnane. “We take care of them, and they take care of us,” he says.

Fischer Cunnane is a registered firm with the PCAOB and holds memberships with BKR International, AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center.

The firm provides accounting, assurance, tax and advisory services to businesses and individuals throughout the Greater Delaware Valley and beyond.
